State-ing Their Case

Still with slim hopes of a BCS bowl birth, Penn State traveled to East Lansing to battle with the Michigan State Spartans. After a close, defensive battle in the first half, the Nittany Lions rolled in the second half to defeat MSU 42-14.

A Win Is A Win

It certainly was not pretty, but as the old adage goes, "A win, is a win." That was certainly the case on Saturday as Penn State overcame turnovers and a first half deficit to defeat a better-than-their-record-would-indicate Indiana Hoosier squad 31-20 on Senior Day at Beaver Stadium.

Oh, Nuts

Big Ten leading Iowa fell in their game earlier in the afternoon to Northwestern. However, even with the added motivation, Penn State was unable to crack a stifling Ohio State defense, and fell to the Buckeyes 24-7.

Burried Gophers

Perhaps Penn State's best defense against Minnesota was their offense as the Nittany Lions held onto the football for over 40 minutes against Minnesota keeping their defense fresh and the Golden Gopher offense, and its vaunted wide receiver Eric Decker, off the field, on their way to a 20-0 homecoming shut out of the Gophers on Saturday.

As Expected

In a game that was admittedly more about money than anything else, Penn State took care of business on Saturday at Beaver Stadium defeating the Eastern Illinois Panthers of the Division-I Football Championship Sub-division (formerly Division-IAA) 52-3.
